Snow is shaped perfectly into landings, ramps are in place, and the base of Buttermilk Mountain has become it’s own city within the city of Aspen. Ready or not, Winter X Games 13 is about to begin. Luckily a large portion of the Freestyle Snowmobile Competitors are ready, thanks to the combined efforts of Colorado Sledstyle, Electric Mountain Lodge, and a nearly endless list of sponsors, friends, and supporters.

The ramp set up at Electric Mountain
For the second year in a row, this collaboration built an excellent practice facility at Electric Mountain Lodge in Somerset, CO. Freestyle Snowmobile Athletes were able to dial-in their sleds, refine old tricks, and learn new tricks comfortably on big safe landings made of 100% natural snow.

Daniel Bodin tests out flip variations.
Daniel Bodin, Ted Culbertson, Justin Hoyer, Dane Ferguson, Jeff Mullin, Matt Binon, Wes Sandoval, Vito Taverna, and Levi LaVallee all made the ride out to Electric Mountain at some time or another in the past week. The beautiful sunny and warm weather was perfect for multiple ramp sessions each day, and a few riders were able to ride into the hills to hit some backcountry jumps.

Jeff Mullin, Wes Sandoval, Petter Grimborg, Daniel Bodin, and Justin Hoyer chill between sessions.
As good as sunny weather is for riding, it’s even better for filming. The crews from Turnagain Hardcore, Fuel Infected Films, and Ruff Riders covered every possible angle of the freestyle madness. ESPN’s Sled Man Talking snowmobile blogger, Tim Mutrie, came out and got the lowdown to give fans a bit of behind-the-scenes info on his blog.
